A paver is heavy construction equipment which is used for laying asphalt or concrete at various places. The paver is usually fed through dump trucks and a roller presses the asphalt on to the surface.
There are different types of pavers such as:
Concrete Pavers
Concrete pavers have finishing width of around 23 mts. and are capable of finishing 150 sq. meter (per hour). The under carriage has spreader augar that spreads concrete in a level fashion with finishing cylinders that assist in compacting the concrete. These also have curing & texturing machine that can be used to create line on the surface of the concrete & also to spray the curing compound.
The concrete paver also consists of needle vibrators to prevent creation of air gaps inside concrete slabs. These find their use in making of factory floors, slabs for parking areas, streets, tennis courts etc. There is one form of concrete paver which is known as slip form paver which can easily spread concrete, clean off excess concrete from slab, reinforce using vibrating apparatus that oscillates, shape concrete with extrusion finisher plus refine surface using float finisher.
Asphalt Pavers
You can use asphalt pavers for different uses which can range from paving of municipal streets, parking lots to bicycle paths. The kind of paver to be used will largely depend upon the amount of asphalt that will be required. Suppose it is required to use 150 – 450 tons every day then a gravity fed paver can serve the purpose and if the need is to use 600 – 1700 tons each day then you will require conveyor type pavers.
These conveyor type pavers have bigger hopper capacity, greater travel speed and higher horsepower. These pavers also have heavier & wider screeds that can deliver good quality mat which is denser than that gained from other type of paver. A gravity fed paver is more useful in smaller works such as driveways or narrow commercial lot.
Mechanical Pavers
These are suitable for asphalt road making with rapid finishing. Mechanical pavers find there use in laying macadam which is of wet mix kind. The features of these pavers are air brakes, vibrating screed which is hydraulic, more stable chassis design, kerosene tank with 2 burners for screed heating, low level of noise and higher operating speed.
There are many companies making these pavers whom you can contact for your purchase requirements. In case you are interested in buying used pavers for sale then many of these reputed companies have used pavers that you can select from.
