Bulldozers are crawler dozers which have a blade that helps to push substantial quantities of rubble, sand and soil at construction sites. These are fitted with ripper at rear end for loosening compact substances.

Dozer blades are of 3 different types:
- Universal blade: It is curved & tall with bigger side wings that help in carrying greater amount of material.
- Straight blade: These do not have any lateral curve and are short. These find there use in fine grading.
- Straight & Universal blade combination: It has small side wings, less amount of curvature & is shorter also with common use such as pushing off rock piles in a quarry.
Rippers
It is situated at the back of bulldozer and looks like a claw. These can be single or be in group of 2 or more. For heavy ripping work, normally the single shank ones are preferred.
